Making a Scene

  Making a Scene

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The script

Person in a room.

A bed separates this person from an open door.

Something is out of place.

A second person is looking.

A third person's presence exists but is unclear.

One of the three figures thinks, "Everything is perfect".

The Concept

This scene is about reflection. It relates to how we perceive ourselves, but also how others around us influence us.

It represents inner growth and reflection - going towards open doors within our lives through learning and growing.

Title: Reflect, Grow, Be You

The sketch

The sketch is hard to read, but the following Items that will be included:

plants

mirrors

frames

others tbd

The following are concepts to be included:

reflection in a mirror

plants to represent growth and open door opportunities

other people supporting or pulling back someone trying to grow and move forward

The Results

I have not decided which to show in class, but I printed two. The meanings are shared below each image.

The meaning: We do not always see the opportunities that exist around us. Sometimes we are so focused on what we see in front of us and in our own reflection, that we miss the opportunities that other people may see. There are always others that surround us, whether they support us or not. These people influence us, which is why it is important to surround ourselves with people who pull us forward, and encourage us.
Persons: reflection, those who see open doors that we do not see, and the rest of the people that surround us
Bed: plants, which represent growth
Open Door: an actual open door, representing opportunities and new direction

Size: 13 inches by 21 inches

The meaning: This one is very similar to the previous one. We focus on working to become the best version of ourselves by reflecting on our actions, thoughts, and opinions. There are people we can use as mentors to do this. There are also people who live this life naturally, constantly growing, changing, and working to be the best version of themselves. Again, there are outside opinions that exist around us everyday, and who we choose to surround ourselves with will either encourage us to be the best version of ourselves, challenge us, or bring us down.
Persons: reflection, those who we look up to/represent growth within our lives, and the rest of the people that surround us
Bed: plants, which represent growth
Open Door: the lights and plants represent open doors/opportunities and growth, the book, dragonflies

Size: 13 inches by 19 inches
